Why we do this
An almond grower, a citrus packer and a pistachio pest control adviser (PCA) don't need to keep up with every crop. The same goes for suppliers, researchers and managers. We separate the information by crop and topic so each reader has less to sort through.
Most of our work is deciding what to leave out.
What we cover
The crop sites and topic pages let you narrow the feed to what you need. Each brief covers a change and the details needed to understand it. New briefs appear as information comes in.
We start with crop and market reports, university research, agency notices and water district updates. We also read trade and local news. Links in the articles take you to the reports and notices behind them.
Who runs it
Verdus Labs, Inc. owns Hectare Brief. We use software to find information and draft articles. We choose what gets published and are responsible for errors.
